Last Thursday, April 16, Urbametrics participated in the II Conference on Knowledge Transfer in Social Sciences and Humanities , organized by the UAB Research Park , a meeting aimed at reflecting on the multiple ways in which academic research can translate into social and territorial impact.
Under the motto “From research to impact: services, networks and collaboration in social sciences and humanities” , the conference highlighted the diversity of transfer routes promoted by the university, as well as the importance of building meeting spaces between research, institutions and society.
In this framework, Urbametrics shared its experience in the field of knowledge transfer, showing how urban data and indicators can become useful tools for decision-making, prioritizing interventions and generating impact in the territory. The presentation was given by Alexandra Bretones Diaz , transfer technician of the research group.
Participation in this conference reinforces a key idea that ran through a good part of the interventions: transfer in social sciences and humanities is necessarily plural, collaborative and oriented towards transformation .
At GEMOTT and Urbametrics, we continue to work to connect research, data and urban planning, with the aim of contributing to a better understanding and management of contemporary urban challenges.
