On February 15th at Bicihub we will host the presentation of the results of the research project Queer Mobilities , a collaboration between the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of Westminster .
This project aims to understand the experience of non-binary people and lesbian, bisexual, pansexual and queer women when they walk or cycle through the streets of Barcelona. To understand these experiences, the research group has spoken to non-binary people and women from the LGTBIQ+ community, adopting an intersectional perspective. This means studying how different forms of oppression, such as homophobia, transphobia, racism and sexism, combine to influence the experiences of walking and cycling. During the presentation, we will hear different testimonies that give voice to the experience of walking or cycling through Barcelona as a lesbian, bisexual, pansexual or non-binary woman. It will also serve to share their proposals for how cities should change to ensure the well-being of the LGTBIQ+ community.
The presentation will be given by Jerònia Cubells , environmentalist and doctoral student in Geography from the Mobility, Transport and Territory Studies Group of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
