Gemott

The Mobility, Transport and Territory Group (GEMOTT) was established in 1994 in the Department of Geography at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.. Composed of an interdisciplinary team, it focuses its research on daily mobility from a territorial, social, and environmental perspective.

  • Effects of territorial dynamics on mobility
  • The use and perception of space and time in the dynamics of everyday mobility
  • Social aspects of mobility: cohesion-exclusion of social groups in relation to transport models
  • The gender perspective in mobility studies
  • Environmental costs

3 goals:

  • Conduct academic research
  • Develop conceptual and methodological tools to improve mobility management and the transport system of a territory
  • Knowledge transfer to companies, public administrations, and NGOs
