New chapter signed by professor Carme Miralles-Guasch in the book Barcellona/Madrid: a critical dialogue between two cities . The volume, published in Naples by CLEAN Edizioni, at the request of the Università Federico II, reproduces in conversation format the exchange maintained over months between the urban planner Agustín Hernández Aja, professor at the School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and the geographer Oriol Nel·lo, professor at the Department of Geography of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
The third and fourth parts of the book analyze the main challenges faced by both cities in areas such as housing, segregation, mobility and internationalization, and the policies deployed to respond to them. In this context, the chapter signed by Carme Miralles-Guasch, Mobility Management , provides a comparative look that allows us to see how, faced with largely shared problems, Madrid and Barcelona have adopted approaches and urban policy strategies that have diverged significantly in recent decades.
With this contribution, Carme Miralles-Guasch enriches the dialogue of the book with an expert reading on mobility and helps to locate, with rigor and comparative perspective, the keys to addressing contemporary urban challenges.
