Last Thursday, May 7, Carme Miralles-Guasch participated in the working session of the Metropolitan Social Table “The Right to Time in the Metropolis” , held within the framework of the renewal of the Metropolitan Pact for the Right to Time 2027–2030 .
The conference, promoted by the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), brought together experts, institutional leaders and representatives from different fields to reflect on how to move towards policies that guarantee a fairer, more balanced and democratic use of time in the metropolis.
Carme was part of one of the round tables, along with representatives from the AMB and the Metropolitan Transport Authority. The dialogue focused on the definition of the right to time from different perspectives, the priorities that need to be addressed to make it effective and the specific policies that can be promoted at a metropolitan level.
Their participation allowed the debate to incorporate the perspective of everyday mobility, territory and urban inequalities, highlighting that the right to time cannot be separated from the spatial organization of the metropolis or the material conditions that structure day-to-day travel.
The day represented a relevant opportunity to continue placing mobility and territorial planning at the center of metropolitan policies aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens.
