We invite you to the upcoming Oxford FMC Lab Talk featuring Laia Mojica Gasol from GEMOTT, who will present:“Proximity for All Ages: Towards Inclusive 15-Minute Cities.”
Her lecture will critically examine how rethinking proximity through an intergenerational lens can lead to more equitable, accessible, and resilient urban spaces. The session will highlight theoretical frameworks and practical strategies to foster cities that genuinely accommodate the diverse mobility patterns and daily needs of all citizens.
The concept of the 15-Minute City has gained substantial traction as a framework for sustainable and livable urban environments. However, its implementation often prioritizes the mobility and needs of a typical working-age adult, neglecting critical considerations for children, older adults, and other diverse urban populations.

Addressing this gap is essential to promoting social and spatial justice in contemporary urban planning.
